BitRock Install Builder Enterprise.6.5.0

BitRock InstallBuilder is a development tool for building crossplatform installers for desktop and server software. With InstallBuilder, you can quickly create professional installers for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris and other platforms from a single project file and build environment.

In addition to installers, InstallBuilder will generate RPM and Debian packages and multiplatform CDs/DVDs. Its new automatic update functionality makes it easy to deliver updates directly to your users once they have your software installed.

Save Development Time
From one project file and build machine, you can generate both crossplatform installers and native packages for every supported platform, saving you from having to build and maintain separate project files. XML based project files and a command line interface make it easy to integrate InstallBuilder installers into version control and automated build systems. An easy to use GUI makes creating and editing installers a fast, user friendly process.

Reduce support costs
Providing easy to use installers for every platform you support will significantly reduce the number of incoming support requests you receive. Using InstallBuilders update functionality, you can keep your users running the best available version of your software, so they dont run into bugs that have been fixed in a later release.

Provide smaller, faster installers
Installers generated with InstallBuilder are up to 30 smaller than their Java based counterparts. Because InstallBuilder installers do not require a self extraction step, they are faster and require less overhead than those that are Java based.

Key Features:

Desktop Integration : BitRock installers provide native look and feel and desktop integration for Windows, KDE and Gnome.
RPM Integration : BitRock installers can register your software with the RPM package database, combining ease of use with the powerful RPM package management system.
RPM and DEB generation : In addition to creating native executables that can register with the RPM subsystem, BitRock InstallBuilder can generate RPM and Debian packages that can be installed using the native package management tools.
Optimized : BitRock installers are optimized in size and speed and do not require a self extraction step, reducing download, startup and installation time. Built in LZMA support provides great compression ratios.
No External Dependencies : BitRock installers are single file, self contained native executables with no external dependencies and minimal overhead. Unlike
competing products, all BitRock installers are truly native code and do not require bundling a Java Runtime Environment.
Ease of Use : BitRock installers provide an intuitive and easy to use interface on all platforms, even for end users without previous Linux experience.
Ease of Development : BitRock InstallBuilder includes an easy to learn, easy to use GUI environment. Design, build and test installers with the click of a button.
Time Saving Functionality : For advanced users, a friendly XML project format supports source control integration, collaborative development and customizing projects both by hand and using external scripts. A command line interface allows you to automate and integrate the building process. QuickBuild functionality allows you to update installers in a few seconds, without having to repack the entire application.
Built in actions : BitRock InstallBuilder provides convenient built in actions for commonly required installation functionality such as autodetecting a Java(tm) Runtime, changing file permissions and ownership, substituting text in a file, adding environment variables, adding directories to the path, creating symbolic links, changing the Windows registry, launching external scripts and so on.
Crossplatform Build Support : The installer builder tool can run on Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris, HP UX, AIX, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, IRIX, and Linux (Intel x86/x64, Itanium, s390, PPC) and generate installers for all target platforms from a single project file. Create all your installers from a single build environment!
Customization : BitRock installers can be customized in a variety of ways, both graphically and in functionality. It is possible to ask for multiple parameters, like username and passwords, in the same installer screen. These helps simplify the installation process for end users.
Multiple Installation modes : BitRock installers provide: several GUI modes with native look and feel, for installation in a variety of desktop environments, a text based installation mode, for console based and remote installations, and a silent/unattended install mode which can be used for integration in shell scripts for automated deployment.
Support for Qt GUI Frontend : The InstallBuilder for Qt family of products provides a new GUI installation mode using the Qt crossplatform toolkit, enhancing the end user experience
Rollback Functionality : BitRock installers by default perform a backup of all the files overwritten during installation, so in case there is an error, the system is recovered to its previous state.
Uninstall Functionality : An uninstall program is created as part of every installation, allowing users to easily uninstall the software. As the installer, it can be run in a variety of modes. On Windows, uninstall functionality can also be accessed from the Add/Remove Programs entry in the Control Panel.
Startup Failure Detection : BitRock installers will automatically detect the best installation mode available. Users also have the option to manually select a mode.
Language and Platform Independent : BitRock installers can install applications written in any language, including: Java, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, C/C++ and .NET/Mono.
Multiple Language Support : BitRock installers support a variety of installation languages, including English, German, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Valencian, Catalan, Estonian, Slovenian, Romanian, Hungarian, Russian and Welsh. You can specify a default language or let the user decide. Please contact us if you require additional language support.

Biblioscape Librarian Edition v8.05

Biblioscape is an information manager for researchers, scholarly writers, students, and librarians. People use it to organize literature references, research notes, automatically generate citations and bibliographies automatically, search and capture bibliographic data on the Internet, and post bibliographic databases live on the web. The flood of bibliographic resources on the Internet requires new solutions for bibliographic information management. Biblioscape offers such a solution -- whether you work alone, or as part of a group, or even in a large organization.

What's new in Biblioscape 8

Built on top of the milestone version 7 release, some interesting features have been added to make adding new references very easy. I will briefly describe the major changes under the following sections:

Projects
• The folder panel is now called "Projects". Under the projects panel, users can add folders as well as collections. A record (reference, note, etc.) can reside only under one folder, but can be included in many collections. Both folders and collections are designed to represent a research project you need to work on.
• Inside the projects panel, you can go to all the following modules: references, notes, tasks, charts, categories, composition, library, deleted, links, and Internet.
• After clicking on a folder or collection, Biblioscape will display the number of records under that folder or collection so you can easily see how many records are under each folder and collection.

References
• The Online Search tab has been added, and searching and capturing references has become very simple. Under the "Web Search" tab, two popular search engines are included: Google Scholar and PubMed Medline. Under the "Z39.50" tab, more than 2,000 sites are included, most of which are university library catalogs. For both "Web Search" and "Z39.50" search, users only need to enter a search string; the hits will be captured automatically into the "Online Search" folder. Users can then drag and drop them into other folders.
• When users browse to a reference, Biblioscape will automatically look for the full text of the selected reference using major search engines.
• When users browse a reference, Biblioscape will automatically look for related references of the selected reference using major search engines.
• If the full text of the selected reference is available, it will be displayed inside Biblioscape wether the file is in PDF or HTML format.
• The following fields have been added to the reference table: Original_pub, Custom_date, Custom_number.
• Users can now organize references under a folder or collection in a parent-child relationship. For example, you can put all book chapter references under the book reference.

Notes
• Notes versioning support has been added. You can select a note and create a snapshot, then compare snapshots side by side. You can easily revert back to a snapshot.
• Notes under a collection can have an independent parent child relationship as well as independent ordering. For example, note A can be the parent of note B in a folder, but when both notes are included in a collection, note B can be made the parent of note A.

Categories

When linking to a categories folder, if the link type is "Metadata", all the categories under that folder will be linked. This can be used to add metadata for a record.

Composition

The composition module is designed to help users write long research papers, theses, or books. The compiled final draft will include formatted citations and a bibliography, a Table of Contents, a formatted suggested reading list, a glossary, and an index. The composition module is only available in the Professional and Librarian editions.

Version 8.01 Patch:

* Improvement: Ctrl+D is now used instead of Del as the shortcut to delete the selected references.
* Improvement: Instead of checking the presence of the Adobe Acrobat Reader at the startup, it is now checked only when users click the PDF tab.

Georeference Imagery
Import or add ground control points for accurate georeferencing of aerial photography or satellite imagery with multiple transformation types supported. Assess residual errors to improve geoferencing and save control point data as reference files. Quick Georeference by a single tie point, two tie points, or from other documents.

Transform
Extensive support for thousands of geographic and projected coordinate systems with the ability to save custom definitions for future use. Re-center images using a custom central meridian and modify pixel resolution.

Mosaic
Mosaic raster images to create a seamless image. Retain images as separate layers or flatten to create one image. Now supports image transformation during Mosaic, making it easier to get the images the way you want. Also, now create seamless mosaics of images with different coordinate systems, pixel sizes, channels and colour modes.

Tile
Tile raster data into multiple images by tile size or count and automatically saves tiles using sequential naming into any supported spatial image format. Great for turning large satellite images into smaller tiles and serving them online.

GeoCrop
The GeoCrop tool allows image cropping based on a combination of pixels or geographic coordinates (geodetic and projected). Easily define coordinates or draw a crop area to see a preview. Advanced Import allows you to crop images during import, making it a great way to crop large images without the need to open them first.

Merge and Split Channels
Adobe Photoshop Merge and Split Channels are now supported. Useful for remote sensing, create false- and true-colour images and retain all georeferencing.

Automate Tasks
Create scripts and actions of Geographic Imager and Adobe Photoshop tools to automate repetitive tasks. All Geographic Imager tools are compatible with automation.

With great pleasure, Atlassian presents Confluence 3.3

Confluence 3.3 is a major release which presents a number of new features and enhancements. With Confluence 3.3, we introduce the new Macro Browser feature, which provides a simple, point-and-click interface for discovering and inserting any of Confluence's 80 bundled macros into a page. Macros greatly enhance the functionality of Confluence pages by allowing users to add tools like task lists, RSS feeds and multi-media content. The macro browser makes it easy to select the macro you need and preview its output with your chosen settings before finally adding it to your page. It also makes it easy to edit and modify the parameters of existing macros on a page.

Confluence 3.3 also provides a range of social features that allow you to discover and connect with other users in your Confluence site. User Profiles have been redesigned with a more intuitive layout and provide additional fields for users to share information about themselves like their IM handle or personal website. The new Network feature lets you follow other users inside your Confluence site and view an aggregated stream of all the activity such as page edits, blogs posts and status updates they undertake. The new Hover Profile feature displays a user's summary profile information whenever you hover your mouse pointer over their name anywhere in Confluence. Hover profiles provide easy access to the user's email address and profile details and allow you to add them to your network. Finally, you can let others know what you are working on, share a link or simply broadcast a short message to your team by setting your User Status. Once your current status message has been updated, it will appear in various activity streams, your profile views and your profile sidebar.

The new PDF Export feature addresses one of the most highly voted requests for Confluence. You have full control over your PDF exports using Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) modifications. You also have the ability to customise page and margin sizes, add a title page or table of contents list to your exported document, add customisable headers and footers and easily select a subsection of documentation for export.

The Rich Text Editor now includes a right-click context menu that makes it easier to insert links, images, macros and tables into your Confluence page. It is now also possible to copy/cut and paste rows within tables.

Atlassian Bamboo v2.6.2

Atlassian today announced the release of Bamboo 2.3, the latest version of its continuous integration (CI) server with cloud computing support.
Bamboo automatically builds and tests code changes as they are committed, giving developers fast feedback so bugs don’t pile up. Bamboo 2.3 introduces improved support for running “elastic build agents” in the Amazon EC2 cloud, leveraging the latest EC2 improvements to speed build times and cut operating costs.
“Bamboo lets teams run their first CI build within minutes,” said Mike Cannon-Brookes, CEO of Atlassian. “Bamboo makes it easy to scale your CI system on-premises or in the Amazon EC2 cloud, and it integrates with the tools and processes that people are already using.”
Bamboo 2.3 now enables:

Faster, Cheaper Builds in the Amazon EC2 Cloud: Bamboo users can now select the EC2 availability zone where elastic agents will run, resulting in faster start-up times, less data transfer cost, and the option to create highly-available build farms spread across multiple availability zones.
Lower Elastic Agent Hourly Costs: Bamboo users can take advantage of the new EC2 reservations feature, which can reduce costs through lower hourly usage fees. Elastic build agents can be scheduled to launch then shut down based on known peaks in the demand for builds.
Flexibility in Scaling: Bamboo agent images can be customized to enable builds and tests to run using multiple elastic image configurations, with different operating systems, software, CPU levels, etc.
Prioritize Urgent Builds First: With Build queue re-ordering, urgent builds can be moved to the top of the queue in a single click, while less urgent builds can be demoted to run when resources are free.
Easier Build Plan Management: Users can easily manage tens or hundreds of build plans at once using Bamboo’s bulk editing features.
Bamboo is used by nearly 1000 customers in over 45 countries including: Motorola, Cisco, Mazda, BNP Paribas, Hilton Hotels and Apache Tapestry. Using Bamboo in the cloud requires an Amazon Web Services account which can be easily obtained at http://aws.amazon.com. Visit http://www.atlassian.com/bamboo for more information and a free 30-day evaluation of Bamboo.
